connecting communities in the midlands
25th July 2007 - 258 ways to get a sparkling travel deal in the West Midlands!
Diamond, the bus company that runs services in the West Midlands and the Black Country, has introduced a new Freedom Ticket, offering travel throughout the region for a pound a day or less. And buying the Freedom Ticket has never been easier with the introduction of a network of outlets where the tickets can be purchased.
Diamond’s Operations Director, Nigel Eggleton said, “The seven day Freedom ticket costs £7 and the twenty-eight day ticket is even more of a bargain at £25. We have set –up a network of PayPoint outlets so passengers can buy the tickets easily. We’ve made things a simple as possible, passengers don’t even need a photo card. There are 258 separate PayPoint locations so anywhere in the West Midlands you’re never far from a pay centre. The tickets are valid on all of our service all day and they can even be used by friends or relatives when the original purchaser isn’t using the ticket themselves.”
Nigel Eggleton added, “We operate services from Birmingham, to many destinations including West Bromwich, Druids Heath, Hamstead, Garrets Green, Walsall, Dudley, Chelmsley Wood and Brownhills. We believe our services are particularly attractive as they are operated with low floor single deck buses without the behaviour problems associated with double-decker vehicles. We’ve recently stepped up the frequency of many of our services and so we believe the Freedom tickets do represent astonishing value for money.” Passengers can find more details of the Freedom Ticket and the PayPoint locations here.
